Alphabettes.org is a showcase for work, commentary, and research on lettering, typography, and type design. Our loose network is here to support and promote the work of all women in our fields. Currently (September 2016), Alphabettes has 162 members from around the world in various levels and areas of activity. If you want to contribute something, e.g. a header image, suggest an article or send us something for our monthly-ish new round-ups, you can use this contribute form.

We also have a Mentorship Program. More info about that here.

This blog was originally assembled on a whim in late August 2015 by Amy Papaelias and Indra Kupferschmid, who like making and breaking things on the web. One year later, the site has undergone a refresh, thanks in huge part to Nicole Dotin. The headline typeface is Bely Display by Roxane Gataud and the body typeface is Elena by Nicole Dotin. Our past headers are here. All authors hold the copyright to their content, work, spelling mistakes and grammar. (As you might tell, many of us are non-native English speakers, but we thought diversity and spontaneïty are more fun than a strong editorial hand.)

We’re also on Twitter and Instagram. And if you must, you can email us.
