Alphabettes is a showcase for work, commentary, and research on lettering, typography, and type design. The network is here to support and promote the work of all women in our fields. There are many ways you can help: submit a header, suggest an article or send us some great news for the monthly news post. Contribute here. If you’re interested in our Mentorship Program, you can find more info about it here.

Currently (Feb 2016), Alphabettes is a loose network of 128 members from around the world. Pay them a visit on their websites, hire them, license their work, invite them to talk, or send them cake. They are all fantastic. You can also find most of them on here.

This blog was assembled on a whim by Amy Papaelias and Indra Kupferschmid, who like making and breaking things on the web. The typeface used on here is Elido by Sibylle Hagmann. Check back regularly, we’re planning to show some more in the line of duty. The nameplates change fairly often. The current one is the typeface Harlemite by Elizabeth Carey Smith. Past headers are saved here. If you must, you can email us. We’re also on Twitter and Instagram.

All authors hold the copyright to their content, work, spelling mistakes and grammar. (As you might tell, many of us are non-native English speakers, but we thought diversity and spontaneïty are more fun than a strong editorial hand.)
